Grieving From Within the Dark Silence

A new article of mine is on Homeschool Mosaics. This month was hard for me to write. I wasn’t even sure if I should write it at all, but I already have a comment posted this morning that showed me that it was God telling me to share. I am glad I did. I know often you are busy and just read my FB post and like it, but seldom go and actually read my article. I understand that because you are just scrolling in between the tasks of your life. I sometimes do that, too, but I mostly read everything because I have more time, I guess. Please read and share this article if you will. I am sharing about grief and loss of loved ones. I know many have felt this pain and some I have read that have lost them in the last few weeks and days as I have. This one is in memory of my father, Dr. Joseph Aaron Kelley, Sr. I hope he would be proud. He always said that God often had us go through trying times, so that we could be used to help others in similar circumstances. Thank you, Daddy, for all your lessons. Second Match Made in Heaven

Perfect timing! My article about applying for a new guide dog has gone live on Home and School Mosaics! Why perfect timing? Well, the next stage in the process begins this Monday, February the 16th. The waiting is over! We and our fur babies get our own Valentine, Nala! Nala, from Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., is a 1 and 1/2 year old Goldador, Golden Retriever and Labrador mix. This means another article in the series will be lived  beginning Monday. I am excited! Little Joe senses that something is up, but he isn’t going anywhere. He will remain with me and continued to be loved just as much as always. Due to the goodness of business owners we know, Little Joe will also get “work” whenever he wants to because they have graciously told us that Little Joe is loved by them, too, and always welcome in their workplaces. I love that, and thank them from the bottom of my heart. Little Joe does, too, because he says he still wants to work. His heart is in it even if his body is slowing. Well, I hope you will read and enjoy this story series. There are a lot of emotions in this for us. As I am excited to bring in a new member of the family, I am heartbroken that it is time for my Joey to retire. Through Eyes of Love

Today on Home and School Mosaics, I share a story about a great servant with a heart of gold who happens to be Man’s best friend, a dog. He is a hero for all, but to me he will always be my little fur baby, Darge. I share his story to honor Darge and celebrate his retirement of service. Through his story, you can learn a lot about great organizations such as Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., State Farm’s Bomb and Arson program, Maine Specialty Dogs, and Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshall and what they do that is so important. Through Darge’s story, you can also learn lessons that you can apply to your life, too, I think, if you will only look through eyes of love.

Music for DeafBlind Ears

I have been working for months and probably longer informally to learn new music. Music has and always will be a very important part of my life. Many Deaf people can’t understand that, but some do. I love how it makes me feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. Problem was that I couldn’t learn new music, so I sought to change that. The results I wrote in an article that went live today on Home and School Mosaics. I am putting myself out there for the world to see, not just on Home and School Mosiacs, but YouTube, too. That is a little scary because people could think I am seeking attention, but that is totally false. I hadn’t thought of sharing until so many people (without hearing me) insisted that I should to show what disable/handicapped people can do. I do share that now for that reason only and for the glory of my Lord and Savior. Don’t expect an amazing performance because my voice is just normal. Do expect to be shown that DeafBlind people can do and learn many things. Singing is just one of them. It really doesn’t matter if they learn to sing or not. It is only important to know that everyone can get something from music including the DeafBlind.
